She's Old Enough to Drive!!!!!

It's a huge milestone when your kids are old enough to drive and you realize you're that much older!!! LOL I made this card for my Niece Meghan. I like to personalize the cards for the family and Meghan got her license recently and is now driving my Sister's little red car!

This is a Bugaboo image Girlz - Car Ride, perfect for the new female driver. I also used the Stella Says Sketch Challenge SSS138 and this weeks Bingo challenge (hope that's ok) I used red, white & Blue a Bugaboo image and stars!

For the 3 embellishments I thought it would be fun to use traffic light colours, so I coloured the SU rhinestones with copic marker and then backed them with black circles made with a regular office-hand hole punch.

Happy Father's Day!

Hello and Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there! This is the card I made for Father's Day.

I used the Fast Food Burger Fun Die from Your Next Stamp, isn't it cool! This die is great, because you can add what toppings you like.

I also used the Freshly Made Sketch FMS90.

The card base is black, with a layer of white I embossed with the swiss dot EF on one side. The gingham paper is from a small MS pad called Winter Wonderland mat pad. I used scraps for the burger toppings. and the red strip is ruby red.

The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes.

RILEY1213, Use Up Those Die Cut Scraps!

Hello, it's time for another challenge from Riley and Company, and this week I'm challenging you to use up those die cut scraps or any scraps you have around. For my card today, I used Graduation Riley.

I also tried a new card design, this is a Diamond Origami Fold Card, I found the tutorial on Splitcoast. It's super easy and you can use one sided designer paper.  The black oval and yellow piece were found in my die cut stash, along with the stars I used on the inside.
This is where I've been keeping my unused die cuts and punched items, but as you can see I am outgrowing this and need a larger container, since I have trouble opening the drawers! lol The top drawer is where I keep my masks of different stamps. I stamp them onto copy paper and cut them out, then use repositionable glue on the back. This way if I use a stamp alot I only have to make the mask once!

So if you want to join in our challenge and use up some of those scraps, please upload creation to the Riley and Company Blog so we can have a look too! If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY1213.

RILEY1113, Anything But A Card!

Hello, this is my creation for this weeks Riley and Company Challenge, RILEY1113. The challenge is to make anything but a card, so I made a corner bookmark, one of my favorites to make and use!

I used God's Got This (RWD-143), one of the new Funny Bones sentiments released last week. There is a fabulous deal going on now, you can purchase the complete May 2013 set, which includes 19 new images, for 50% off until June 1st, 2013!

So for my bookmark I decided to use masculine colours, thinking Father's Day is fast approaching, and  this would be a great gift for a Hubby or Dad, the kids could even make this! Dad could use this in his book of faith or as an everyday bookmark to remind him he's not alone!

Please join in our challenge, and upoad your creation to the Riley and Company Blog! If you upload to any forums, please use the keyword RILEY1113.

TSG208, Shiver Me Timbers!

Hello, my new stamps arrived in the mail yesterday, so while recovering from surgery I decided to play along with the There She Goes challenge TSG208.

This is one of the images from the Shiver Me Timbers set. I coloured him with copics.

The card base is night of navy, with a layer of dp from Bo Bunny. I also used real red embossed with a woodgrain EF and a scrap of brown I had.

I was hoping the button would look like a coin, I started with a button shaped piece of chipboard. I covered it with versamark and first embossed with bronze and then again with gold EP.

Riley Release and Blog Hop!

Hello and Welcome to the Riley and Company May Release and Blog Hop! This month Riley and Company are releasing 19 new Funny Bones sentiments, all are available in the store now! Just leave a comment on the designers blogs for your chance to win some Blog Candy!

I used the new sentiment 'It's always nice to have...' and made this card/photo frame/with a touch of scrapbooking! I bought this new Sizzix Album Accordian Flip 3-D die at a craft store out of town, and I love it!
My Daughter Rachel is attending the Culinary Management program, and for her summer co-op, she got a job at Muskoka Lakes Golf and Country Club. We had to move her there May 12th, and she will be gone til after Thanksgiving! She always makes me smile so this sentiment led me to this creation!

For the first piece I die cut a heart and punch some mittens and added some hand written info. The second piece is the new sentiment, I added the xo's and the star was left on my table from yesterday's card.
The third piece is Rachel, walking to the kitchen in the morning, it's beautiful up there!
The fourth is Rachel in the kitchen (which is right on the water) with the Head Chef.
I miss her already, she's about 4 hrs away, but what a great experience!

Ok so now it's time to hop! here's the complete line-up just in case you missed any!

Riley Peek - Shit Creek Survivor!

Riley and Company will be releasing 19 New Funny Bones sentiments Tonight Thursday May 23rd, 10:00 pm est. Please come by for the Release and Blog Hop that will start on the Riley and Company Blog! Leave comments along the way for your chance to win some awesome Blog Candy!

All New stamps will be available for purchase at Riley and Company at 10 pm est.

When I first saw this sentiment, it reminded me of a time years ago, when I was having complications following surgery and my Mom would say I had a shit cloud over me! So to remind myself that I am a survivor, I made myself a bookmark. I am writing this ahead of time, and when it posts I will be in having another surgery, yep I'm a little scared, but I'm going to keep this in my book to remind me it will all work out in the end!

I paired the new 'Shit Creek Survivior' sentiment with Fishing Riley, and coloured him with copics and cut him out. The tag itself was made with the Shapeabilities Page Maps. I covered that with dp then stamped the image onto it. The clouds were made with a die-namics and the top of a cupcake punch.

Please make sure to come back tonight for your chance to win some Blog Candy!
